Cookies and storage

Strictly necessary storage
When you sign in, our authentication provider stores a session token in your browser’s local storage so you stay signed in. This is necessary for the service you asked for and does not need consent.
Stripe sets its own cookies on its checkout and billing pages, which are governed by Stripe’s policy.
Preferences stored on your device
If you choose a light or dark theme, that choice is kept in your browser’s local storage (“theprive.theme”) so the site looks the way you chose on your next visit. Nothing is sent to us. Clearing your browser’s site data removes it.
If you tick items on a members’ guide checklist, the ticks are kept in your browser’s local storage (“theprive.checklist.” followed by the event) so they are there when you return. Nothing is sent to us. Clearing your browser’s site data removes them.
In the preview version of the site only, saved events, interests and the demonstration membership are kept in local storage on your device instead of in an account.
Analytics
If enabled, our analytics is cookie-free and does not track you across sites. It respects your browser’s Do Not Track setting.
Advertising
We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. Because we use only storage that is strictly necessary or that you choose yourself, we do not show a cookie banner.
