Terms of service

Last updated 11 October 2026

Who we are

THE PRIVÉ (“we”, “us”) is operated by THE PRIVÉ. Contact: info@jointheprive.com.

What the service is

THE PRIVÉ is an editorial guide to events. We publish information about events and explain the publicly documented ways to attend them.

We do not sell tickets, arrange access, broker invitations or act for any organiser. We are not affiliated with or endorsed by the organisers of the events we cover. Nothing on the service is a promise that you will be able to attend an event.

Accuracy of information

We research information from the sources shown on each page and mark how each statement is supported. Our research and date checks are AI-assisted and published under the name “Editorial desk”. Events change, sometimes at short notice. Always confirm dates, rules and prices with the organiser before you make plans or payments.

Listings and news gathered automatically

Some event listings are gathered automatically from the sources named on each page, such as event calendars published by organisers and established data providers. They are marked as listed automatically, show where each fact comes from, and are updated when those sources change. Listings that do not meet our publication criteria wait for an editor.

The news page links to articles published by third parties. Headlines, articles and their images belong to their publishers; we show the headline, the publisher, the date and a link to the original, and never republish the article. Where a short summary appears, it is either the publisher’s own excerpt, attributed to them, or a short summary written for us with the help of AI from the headline and the publisher’s text, which is labelled as such. Always read the original before relying on a story.

Photographs are shown only where we hold a licence or they are freely licensed; each one is credited and captioned for what it actually shows, such as the venue or an earlier edition. Where we have no such photograph, we show our own branded illustration instead.

Accounts

You must be at least 18 to open an account and must give accurate details and keep your password secure. You may close your account at any time from your account page or by writing to us.

Membership

Membership costs €9.99 per month and is governed by the Subscription terms, which form part of these terms.

Acceptable use

Do not misuse the service: no scraping or bulk downloading, no attempts to break or bypass security or access controls, no reselling or republishing members’ content, and no use that breaks the law. We may suspend or close accounts that do so, after warning you where reasonable.

Content and intellectual property

Our text, guides, design and branding belong to us or our licensors. Members’ guides are for your personal use. You may share links to our pages freely. Event names, logos and marks belong to their owners and are used only to identify the events.

Links to other websites

We link to organisers’, venues’, ticket sellers’ and publishers’ websites. We are not responsible for their content, availability or practices; their own terms and privacy policies apply.

Liability

We provide the service with reasonable care and skill. We are not liable for decisions you make on the basis of information an organiser later changes, for the acts of third parties, or for events we do not control.

Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for intent and gross negligence, or affects your statutory rights as a consumer.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms when the service or the law changes. We will tell members by email at least 30 days before a change that affects them takes effect. If you do not agree, you can cancel before then.

Complaints and disputes

Please write to us first at info@jointheprive.com; we answer within 14 days.

If we cannot resolve your complaint, consumers in Greece can contact the Hellenic Consumer Ombudsman (synigoroskatanaloti.gr) or the amicable settlement committees for consumer disputes. Consumers elsewhere in the EU can contact the consumer protection authority in their country.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Greece, and the courts of Athens, Greece have jurisdiction. If you are a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the country where you live and may bring proceedings there.

ThePrivé

An independent guide to the world’s great occasions. We research, cite and explain. We do not sell tickets, broker invitations or promise access.

The Letter
